Camp Spotlight is Georgia’s premiere Performing Arts summer camp. In its 8th successful season, Camp Spotlight proves that kids can do ANYTHING with the proper direction. Our musical theatre summer camp is a magical 3 week experience for kids, 7-17yrs old. Partnerships and direct mentoring are the key to the camp’s success. Camp founder, Stepp Stewart, and his dynamite staff, bring their professional expertise and knowledge to the camp, while allowing the campers to discover and develop their own talents. Camp Spotlight’s focus is on Broadway musicals and what it takes to become a part of the Performing Arts community. Daily classes, physical fitness workouts, movies, nutrition workshops, parties, contests, games and rehearsals give the camp its signature style of operation. Mr. Stewart’s first hand involvement in show business fuels the camps opportunity and growth. Acting, Singing, Dance, Costumes, Wigs, Make-up, and Backstage Crew are some of the concentrated areas of study. Auditions and career opportunity surround camp spotlight with special guests and new relationships. We will end Camp Spotlight with another spectacular theatrical production starring our campers. Your children are “More Precious than Gold” and we encourage them to “LIVE OUT LOUD” and be BOLD. Be a part of the cast and step into the Spotlight!
Please Note: Our campers are excited to learn, support one another, develop new skills, and leave with more than they could ever imagine. If your child has behavioral problems, a less than stellar work ethic, or may not be motivated, this is NOT the camp for them. We have a strict anti-bullying policy and a drama free environment.

Georgia Facilities
The Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center is a state-of-the-art, 500 seat theater in the historic Candler Road district, bringing a diverse range of programming possibilities to Southern DeKalb County. The Center is equipped with digital audio and lighting equipment throughout the entire facility and accommodates the diversity of our camp programs.

Stepp Stewart
Founder of Camp Spotlight
Stepp Stewart is an Emmy Nominated - Producer/Director/Choreographer/Songwriter and Play-write. He has been in show Business for over 30 years touring in the United States, Europe, and Japan. He attended The Ohio State University with continuing studies in New York City while focusing on Theatre and Dance. He is best known as the Dance Fitness Star of the Emmy Award Winning Television hit, The Dr. Oz Show. He has worked with Broadway's Tony award winning legends: George C. Wolfe, Hinton Battle, LaChanze, Ben Vereen, Savion Glover, Jennifer Holliday, Tommy Tune, Ann Reinking, Chita Rivera, Gene Saks, Christopher Gattelli, Lilias White and more. Stepp produced, directed and choreographed the Off Broadway production of Red Hot Broadway starring Tony Award Nominee for Smokey Joes Cafe, BJ Crosby. His other original musicals and cast album recordings include: Show N Tell The Musical, A Soulful Christmas, and Cindy (A Different Kind Of Cinderella Story). His theatrical credits include: Jelly's Last Jam, Cats, Sophisticated Ladies, Bubbling Brown Sugar, Chicago, Applause, Hot Mikado, and Dreamgirls to name a few. His Television appearances include:
The Arsenio Hall show, American Bandstand, Solid Gold, Good Morning America, The Joan Rivers show and American Idol. Some of steps favorite moments include working out with President Barack Obama and performing for Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Stepp also teaches dance and theater workshops across the country and abroad along with owning The Dynamite National Talent Competition.

The Big Show
It’s the moment that every camper has been waiting for! After three weeks of rigorous training, the campers hit the stage for their finale performance of Stepptastic Broadway. This event is open to the public viewing. Show tickets are $20.00 and we also take group reservations for seniors and day camp field trips.
